From October 13th to 17th, 2021 the Association of Afro Development Casa do Boneco de Itacaré
performs the XX Caruru de Ibeji and the Pedagogingas in a hybrid format (in person and online).

destruction."
the organization calls the black community to self-organize around a autonomous
political project of the Quilombo Together(Aquilombamento), in face of the racial war scenario
imposed for centuries into the lives of native people, Africans and their descendants in Brazil.
Casa do Boneco de Itacaré (CBI) is a community organization focused for the Afro development,
which for more than 30 years has been developing programs in training and skills building
programs, professional development, cultural production and dissemination, entrepreneurship and
sustainability, communication and technological appropriation, through articulated projects and
continuous life experience.
The Fazenda ModeloQuilombo D’Oiti is an autonomous territory self-managed by the CBI as a
training and application of a community-based Ethnic Tourism model, located on the Ancestral
territory of the Quilombo do Oitizeiro, where traditional knowledge and practices are articulated
based on the African Cosmovision. The Caruru de Ibeji and the Pedagogingas is a traditional
celebration-meeting held by the CBI for 20 years from the process of mobilizing partner
organizations in Brazil around of educational practices called 'pedagogingas', what means the
elaboration of a specific method of transmission and exchange of knowledge through workshops,
circles of conversation and exchange experiences of the daily life. The Caruru is a religious
celebration of African origin in celebration of the Ibejis, deities that represent children, happiness
and the continuity of life, with the offering a great feast.
In October 2021, the 20th edition of the meeting will be held, which calls for the entire Afro-
descendant community, native peoples and supporters of the racial struggle in Brazil against white
supremacy, for the discussion around the main items of domination on the planet 'land, water and
communication', presenting the “Aquilombamento” as a 'possibility in the days of destruction''.
Given the current scenario of war against traditional people and communities in the country, the call
is to build autonomous perspectives of survival from the collective use of land with an authentic
political project. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the agenda that usually brings together
hundreds of people at the institution's headquarters, it will still occur in a hybrid format, offering
